Networking and Fellowship: Saxon's First Event

Saxon Walker’s first networking event was a complete success!

The location was a perfect café in Brandon, LC’s Café and Supper Club. Known for their famous Tampa Bowl, LC’s Café is a quaint restaurant that feels like home. They have a small dining area inside and a small area for outdoor dining as well. The owners are so kind and personable, we all felt like old friends chatting together. And their food was AMAZING! My favorite? The Seafood Croissant, it was heavenly!

I will be making many trips back, and bringing friends along!

The time and dedication that Saxon has put forth thus far is a sure indication of the success that will follow, I’m sure of it. The event was so cute and well crafted, and above all it was successful on many levels.

It was refreshing to be around a like-minded group of people who are so driven towards their personal goals. Every person in attendance had their own creative dream that they were working towards fulfilling, so networking came easily.

After getting to know each other a little better, we shared a discussion on Saxon’s goal and suggestions on how to achieve it. I found the advice given was not only beneficial for Saxon, but for everyone in the room. With our discussion and suggestions on how to empower and uplift Saxon’s audience of young women, we all walked away feeling more confident about their personal goals. I know that I did!

One memorable comment came from Saxon’s mother, who was in attendance. She spoke on building a “millionaire team” to help you and support your dream. It’s so vital to have a group of people who you trust that can help in any way. Whether they can act as resources or they know anyone who can help instead, we need to learn to depend on one another’s support to fuel and further our dreams. If we work together and for each other, we can achieve so much more than trying to go at it alone.

Another memorable comment came from fellow H&M-er, Luis Blanco. “Don’t get so caught up in building the foundation, that you forget the creation.” That’s to say, that so much can go into starting any project. There will be a lot of red tape to cut and hurdles to jump to get everything set up as it needs to be, but don’t get bogged down in the bureaucracy of it all to the point that you forget the passion behind your dream. It’s that passion that keeps you going and that passion that will make it all worthwhile in the end.

This is advice that everyone can use in pursuit of their aspirations, I’m glad to have been there to receive it.

Saxon, I’m so proud of you! I can’t wait to watch you and your business grow into something bigger than you could’ve ever imagined!
